Another international success for INTRACOM IT SERVICES Group; Two new projects in Romania and Morocco Athens, October 31, 2011 – INTRACOM IT SERVICES Group, the leading provider of integrated IT solutions and services in Greece, with offices in 12 countries and projects in 68 countries, has been awarded two major contracts in Romania and Morrocco by the respective Ministries of Finance, demonstrating once more the Group’s increasing international activity. INTRASOFT International has been awarded a new contract to provide services to the Romanian Ministry of Finance over the next 3 years. In collaboration with IBM Romania, INTRASOFT International will implement the next phase of EMCS (Excise Movement Control System). This new 3-year contract is worth EUR 3 million, of which INTRASOFT International will receive EUR 1 million. In addition, INTRASOFT International and IBM Romania will be providing maintenance and technical support. INTRASOFT International and IBM have become the market leader in the EMCS business area, having implemented EMCS systems in 7 European member states, putting them way ahead of their competitors. Over the last few years, all EU member states have implemented EMCS, according to the relevant EU directives. EMCS is the culmination of a vision of a truly integrated Customs Union between all EU Member States that allows for the immediate flow of information between National Customs Offices, helping cut down on fraud and increase income from excise products. In addition, INTRACOM IT SERVICES Denmark has been awarded by the Moroccan Ministry of Finance a contract with an approximate value of EUR 600,000 for the implementation of an advanced risk-analysis system for the National Tax Collection Agency of the Moroccan Government. The aim of the system will be to improve the National Tax Collection Agency’s ability to identify and select high-risk taxpayers for investigation and is expected to play a major part in the Moroccan Government’s drive to improve tax compliance and to increase the tax collection – which is a key focus for all governments globally during these times of financial crisis. The system will be based on INTRACOM IT SERVICES Denmark’s internationally acclaimed compliance and enforcement solution, ESKORT. ESKORT enjoys a dominant position in this field, with 40 installations in 25 countries worldwide and has received awards for excellence in the USA. In addition, Gartner, the international IT research and advisory company, lists INTRACOM IT SERVICES Denmark as one of the leading providers worldwide of Tax Compliance Solutions for Government Revenue Agencies. The Moroccan project involves implementing the solution in all the main tax offices in the country and will enable the Moroccan tax authorities to “scan” the complete universe of taxpayers, in order to help determine which taxpayers should be investigated for failure to meet their tax obligations, whether it is due to error, avoidance, evasion or fraud. Taxpayers identified by the system will be subject to a compliance audit. For more Information, please visit: www.intracom-it.com More from this author: |
